Feeling Good about Buying Local

We make a concerted effort in our family to buy local. Whether that means going to the neighborhood hardware store over the big orange giant, or visiting farm stands for local produce, we are always happy to support the local economy.

We were especially excited, moving back to Connecticut, when we remembered a great local dairy. We are getting set up for home delivery of our milk, cream, eggs and butter.

A big smile spread across my face when I reached for this gallon of milk and saw the following printed on it--"The cows and calves are warm in the barn."

It's a simple thing, but it makes me feel so good.

Hi! I came to your blog through My Happy Little Life. I, too, have made a switch to simple, and wanted to wish you luck in your new adventure. We have been buying local for over a year, and I have to say, it has been a wonderful experience for my children. I never thought to look for a local dairy, and am going to google it now!
