Dad put it into perspective for me. "Think about it this way," he said, "do you want to do anything right now that will take you away from the time you have with your kids?" He told me, "Really--this is the best time in your life." He told me a story about how he remembered when I was 3 or so, we stepped out of the house onto the steps. I was holding his hand, and I looked up at the sky and said, "Dad! Look! The clouds are all stuck together!"
He said he will never forget that moment. It was a good hard kick of reality for me. I have made the choice to stay home and take care of my children. I need to remember that many Moms and Dads don't have the luxury of making that choice. I need to suck up EVERY MOMENT of sticky goodness that I can.
That said--here are some photos I took recently. They just make me laugh, these two precious children. Grad school can wait.

As for my fonts, the title fonts are part of my blog layout, that I did not do.
My posting fonts I can change because I write my blog in Windows Live Writer. It has tons of fonts and colors.
If you have never used it, it is great. It is free, you just have to download the program. I refuse to write my blog in blogger..too much hassle with pictures.

Funny how even when we are parents ourselves, sometimes out parents know best (or at least know the right things to say).
I never would have made it through my Masters when the kids were small. And, cliched though it may be, that time passesso fast.

What a sweet dad you have to share such wisdom! There is no higher calling than to be a mother. They do grow up way too fast. I've been a SAHM for the last 18 years and my son is graduating this year and my daughter will be 16 in two weeks. I just started last year going back to work pt and seasonal at that! I wouldn't trade all those years with anything else in this world!

Allison - your Dad is right (of course!). You are so young and have so much living left but this precious little bit of your life is NOW so don't blink because it will be gone when you open your eyes.
This was a terrific post, a wonderful reminder for all of us. You have a beautiful family as well, enjoy them!
