This is a gorgeous shot. I love cardinals all year round...they just stand out so well!!
Well, this is embarrassing...I had about 20 tabs opened, reading blogs, and commenting, waiting for your photo to load, and by the time I got back to your comments again, it has the "Your comment has been saved and will be visible after blog owner approval." line, but I don't recall typing in a comment yet.
What I was going to say was "There's only one thing more beautiful, and that is YOUR photo of a cardinal in the winter! :) "

I love that! We get lots of peckers here - not many cardinals - and none as striking as that!
Maybe it's the dogs in the yard that keep them away?? We have a few blue birds - not sure if they are "Jays" - but I see them occasionally...
Very very beautiful.
.......he is very, very beautiful. Just makes me happy seeing them against the snow!! (and you know I love the cardinals!!
p.s. I'm going to be working on a painting of a female cardinal in a week! I can send it to you...
