Valentine's Hoop-la

It has been busy busy around here getting ready for Valentine's Day (one of my FAVORITE holidays).

A few weeks ago I made about a dozen cards for family and friends featuring none other than the cutest little Valentine cupid ever--JAMES!

Posted by Picasa

I had such a blast making these cards. I have a favorite that I will post on here tomorrow.

Last night I made 30 cupcakes for tonight's playgroup Valentine's Day potluck. They turned out adorable (and yummy).

Dontcha just wanna stick your finger in this YUMMY butter cream icing??!!

I have a top secret project to complete today after work for Chris, and a few little things to wrap, and other than that, I will be done!

Sending lots of love your way for Valentine's Day!!

The Men in My Life

The men in my life make me smile.

My beautiful, sweet, thoughtful boy, first thing in the morning.

My handsome, sweet and oh-so-tired husband at the end of the day.

(I'll probably never post again after this, because he will surely kill me for posting this pic.)

Love you guys!

The Diego Fascination Continues

James' fascination with all things Diego continues. I have tried to keep his Go, Diego, Go! tv watching to a minimum, limiting him to two epsiodes per day. It is a good thing my Dad doesn't read my blog much, because it would just kill him to find out how addicted to the boob tube his grandson really is! Now James will bring me the remote and yell "GO YAGO!" and demand I turn it on for him.

Sigh. Oh Kimmy. Enjoy that sweet, quiet little baby of yours. In a few short months he will be bringing you the remote demanding that you turn on Clifford or Wonder Pets. I had such great aspirations early on--no plastic toys (uhhh . . yeah, we got 'em), no TV watching (uhhh . . did I say he brings me the remote?), no sugary treats (uhhh . . . didn't he just lean how to say "Cookie?").

Anyhow, I digress . . .

We were in the toy store on Sunday becasue I wanted to buy him alphabet flash cards. I guess all of the sugar and the TV hasn't turned his brain to mush y e t . . . because he is constantly pointing at letters and telling me what they are. So, I found him this great set of Eric Carle (You know, The Very Hungry Caterpillar guy?) flash cards. AWESOME.

Anyhow, of course we went down the All Things Diego aisle in the toy store. The bad part? Uhhh . . got that, got that, got that, Auntie Gini gave him that, got that. Shheesh!

We did end up getting him a talking Diego doll. I actually thought this was a good thing, because maybe it would start to get him geared up for a baby brother or sister.

HE LOVES IT.

Take a look:

Are his eyes not filled with rapture, or what?

Eh-hem . . . OK kid, that's enough kissing. Uh, James. OK stop kissing Diego. HEY! DID YOU HEAR ME???

Excuse me, Mr. Kiss, can you save some of that for the LADIES??? OMG--does this mean he is going to be awesome at interior decorating? Sigh. Oh well. Clinton Kelly has a great job, right? There's hope, I guess. I love him anyway!

Videos for the James Gang Fans

I swear he is learning a new word every day! Last night his Dad taught him how to say "I love you." It definitely comes out like "I wuv oo."

Here he is saying "Choo choo."

Here he is saying "Yum" and "egg."

I Just Have To Say . . .

That being pregnant and sick (congested, coughing, etc.)

SUCKS!

(Well, being pregnant doesn't, I love that.)

I just hate being sick.

I think I will go stare adoringly at all the great meds that I can't take, like my old pal Nyquil.

Collage-o-rama

A few fun photo collages for you:

Chris had a dream a few weeks ago about a little Casio keyboard he had when he was a boy. He even dreamed the model number. Sure enough the next morning he Googled the model number and there it was!

He bid on one on Ebay for James and it arrived yesterday. He LOVES it! It is pretty much a tie right now for his favorite thing with his Super Bowl balloon (as you can see from the top left pic when he is playing the keyboard with one hand and holding his balloon with the other.) LOL

A few great pics from his bath last night:

I have been trying to get him out in the sunshine at lunch time by taking him for a little walk to the playground in our community. He runs at full-out break-neck speed to the playground once he sees it.

He is growing up way too fast. Do I say that in every other post, or what? DRAT!! I am going to start putting espresso in his milk to stunt his growth!

TRAITOR!

Chris and I have always been Patriots fans.

We were pretty excited about yesterday's Super Bowl game, as we wanted to see their undefeated season close with a good Giants thrashing. As the game went on, it became clear to us that the Giants' defense was stopping every Patriots effort to advance, and Eli Manning was making his way closer and closer to that 2008 Black Escalade that he was awarded post game for MVP. UGH.

Since James was feeling better, we decided not to cancel our little Super Bowl gathering. I phoned our guests before hand to let them know that James still had a cough, and there would be no kisses for his "Grandma" Mel and "Grandpa" Gene or for "Auntie" Joan and "Uncle" Sam. They all have some version of the cold that has the Valley by the throat, so they took it in stride and came over anyhow.

Chris and I and James were alone in our hopes for a Patriots win. Or so I thought, until the final seconds ticked off of the game clock, and our Giants fans went nuts:

James! YOU TRAITOR!!!!

We love you anyway. Even if you don't know a great team when you see one!

Feeling Better!

Doesn't that always happen right after you take them to see the Doctor? A $20 co-pay and $50 in prescriptions and now he is fine and running around like crazy.

Taking a Break

We are all feeling pretty yucky around here, so until we get better we won't be posting much. Send positive, healthy thoughts our way! We need them!
